are you sure there altums
Altums have the "Hooked" nose and extended Fins shown and I do doubt that Jo would have any problems identifying fish believe me this is one experienced fish keeper who I would trust with ID,s on almost any fish.
Years of experience plus a "gift" far greater than many for identifying fish are her trade mark along with quality and knowledge.

last time I saw wild caught Altums was in 1972. @ a little shop in west london were the owner was very old school.
They look like the ones Dave had and he was insistent they were Altums but I am not sure if his were wild caught.
The hooked nose and lips are for me the closer.
I would love some for my show tank but as its full of Apistos I cant risk it

These are wilds they only came in on Tuesday Night so its early days yet plenty of time for you to change your tank over yet ; )
I think many shops avoid like the plague simply because of the death rate there again they are certainly not a fish you could keep on a system or in dirty conditions

Absolutely stunning fish and definitely the 'real deal'. The height of the fish, nose shape and lovely red colouring on the fins makes them stand head and shoulders above the rest. Looking good too, for new arrivals Jo .... well done !
