Took the Juvi L174 out today to check on how well they were growing and they're doing really well, 12 out of 16 in the one tank are now over an inch

Took some photos after I had finished messing and put them all nicely back in their tank

Looking good
Thanks, they are from the ones I got from you :D

Yes they are from my pair. I also have some from a bigger group but got to get those ones out another day and photograph.

They are about 5-6 months old. These are notorious for being slow growers but hard work water changing every day and lots of yummy food I find they reach an inch at about 5 months

That's impressive.

Tis the one thing I am not looking forward to with my imminent arrival(s), increased water changes.

Water changes are hard work but get good results and I'm sure you'll think they are worth it when your new arrivals get there :D

Very nice little guys...love L174! How many are you getting from a spawn?

Chuck
Thank you :)

The average seems to be 7-10 as they are a very small hypan but the last spawn off one of my males in the big group produced 17 fry :woohoo:

They've been on a break the last few months but the females are hanging around now so hopefully they will start off again :D

I'm finding its approx 5 months to reach 1" total length

Yes I was quite surprised at that big spawn but they've taken a break since then so maybe it wore them out :D

Great little fish <3<3

I have some young adults here. Hoping they will spawn soon :nw: Things are looking good!
I also have bought some juveniles in Januari this year. They were 2cm in length. 6 Months on and the have reached about 3cm now. So yes, very slow growing hypans :) I bought some L262 of the same size and they are now 5-6cm :)
