Stainless steel goldfish tank?

I personally don't see why not. Its not like it releases any toxins in the water or anything like that. Goldfish don't need a heater so thats good as using a heater could pose a problem with the stainless steal heating up. Hope this was a little help mate.

It depends on the stainless alloy. Stainless doesn't necessarily mean it won't rust. The higher the chromium & nickel content the more rust resistant it is but also the harder it is to form. For a piece of equipment like a restaurant sink i'd think that it'd need to be pretty formable to shape into the sink. Also, it'd depend on how good the stainless is. Cheap stainless rusts as the manufacturers try to skimp on the alloy. You could try to leave it full of water for a time & see how it works out.

agree with Lornek. We use stainless steel water bowls for the dogs and eventually they do rust or get a scratch. Why not use an old bathtub if you can get your hand on one ? cheers jk :thumbup:

it was just a thought, restaurant went out of business down the street and having a sidewalk sale could have it for about 30usd.
