When the fluval gets established after a while you'll probably get a build up inside the pipes, this sometimes gets chucked out after a powercut when the water surge starts up again flushing the pipes, just a note for the future

yep, my tetratec 1200 does it too, i now attach a hose to the outlet pipe to clear out into a bucket rather than all over the newly water changed tank:wb:

The pipes should really be cleaned out sometimes but not at same time as cleaning any filter media as the pipes are likely to be holding some bacteria that is part of the biological cycle, so you could end up over cleaning.
