Yeah i read that before. The only problem is he doesnt really state the size they start to breed at. He only states his sizes at breeding. I wonder if they can breed earlier.

I had a group of these fish with the thought to breed them had 5 in a 4 foottank

They were over 5" when I sold them on and no breeding activity so I guess they would have to be over 6" to get any results.
They were quite agressive, males would chase each outher about but the 3 females were left alone so the had devloped teritorial sexual activity, but not beerding activity.
Not a shy fish mine would hand feed and eat any thing.
Moved them on due to tank size,

Found they destroyed Courgette, shrimps and Bloodworm.
In fact they seemed to eat any thing going.
Like I said a very active fish always about and always feeding
Just thought I was not being fair to them in a 4 foot tank

Im going to try and split the group mate. Ill stick them in a 4ft to grow them on but when they reach 4-5inch ill split the group hopefully be able to sex them then. Ill just grow a load of angels on with them or something and hammer the tank with bloodworm. how quick do they grow?

They were rather fast growing from under 2" to over 4" in a year

I have 3 I got this summer...females are about 4" male 5". They are just starting to show signs of wanting to breed. Found a female trying to get in with the male two days in a row...so they are close anyways.
