I think there great to keep and really attractive markings and colors, the only issue with them is there pretty shy so its more like a quick glance then there back in the caves, they are ment to be difficult to spawn but ive ownd them for 7 months and they did spawn after 6 months but they ate most of the eggs, i did try inducing them a few ways but generaly tap water and tannins from the bogwood did it, if you pour your water needed for a water change and leave it for a day or so then use it for your changes the chlorine in the water rises and evaporates naturally, i personally dont use tap safe chemiclas in my water as recomended by a few people i know who breed (lots of people do use it though) i just prefer my tank water to have as least amount of chemicals as possible. Something worth buying if you want to breed harder plecos is a barometer it will allow you to do your cold water changes when were in low pressure that will hopefully trigger your fish, i used to go off the bbc weather site online but it is never right or even close to it most times so investing in that would be a good part of your kit.
If you havnt yet got yourself some L134s you can just buy the odd one or so you see on AC or ebay and create your own group over time, you really dont need to go to a fish shop and purchase lots at once. There are a breeding group of 3 on ebay now you may be interested in there at £5 at the moment but ovously get higher bids
