Best rock

Hi all I am planning on making some caves and wanted to know what would be a good rock to use and that is easy to to get in sydney. And feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :thumbup:

Caves are usually made from slate tiles and siliconed together.
If you are planning on actually drilling a hole in rock you might want something easy to drill into like sandstone rock.

i was thinking of grinding a notch in the bottom of the the rock and siliconing a cave underneath. would marble be an option or would i have a hell of a time with it:thumbup:

i think slate is cheaper and also easier to cut. cheers jk :thumbup:

I think marble is calcareous and will break down and effect pH.

Think I might stick to slate then. Does anyone know where I can get some in syd?
