If you check out some of the posts you will find some good pics to help you tell the difference in sexes.
In short, the males develop odontode (hair like) growth on their bodies, particularly towards their tails and also along their pectoral fins. In adults it is very easy to see.
There are other ways as well but that is the simplest. When you see the pics you will know what i mean.
