He might kick them out or eat them or worse still not breed again. Definitely don't do it ever
Some say to use a camera with a flash as it's more natural but don't do it unless you have to

Personaly i would shine a torch from time to time . even before eggs. that way they get used to it.

This week i lost a young male.he had got himself at the end of the cave head facing in. the female laid eggs on the floor of the cave and the roof:yes: It may even have been a doubble spawn from 2 females. I cut the end off the slate cave and removed the dead male. eggs are safe and in a artificial enviroment to hatch out.

Had i not used a torch he would have rotted away for a day or two. :wb:
so personal choice. at the end of the day.
