Cheers Buddy! The wife says it has to be pretty as the tank is in her reception area, but perhaps I can mask it well..dead easy really mate. empty cola bottle ( or similar, but must be from a carbonated drink to withstand the pressure) yeast, sugar and water. oh and some silicon and CO2 proof tubing. The only hassle is refilling it every few weeks or so.
We indeed do have Hagen products here, pricey, but compared to the price of compressed co2 (can only get the disposable cartridges) its doable. thanks for all the help mate.:thumbup:This is a yeast based CO2 system, i dont buy the refills just use sugar and yeast

surely you can get hold of a co2 fire extinguisher?i read an article on DIY co2 and if you have a large tank and is heavily planted(with at least 3WPG) then pressurised is certainly the way to go and the most cost effective way is with a moddified extinguisher(after the initial forkout of the parts like regulaters, pressure gages etc...)then just get them refilled when it runs out.We indeed do have Hagen products here, pricey, but compared to the price of compressed co2 (can only get the disposable cartridges) its doable. thanks for all the help mate.
