Hi guys,
i read somewhere about feeding BN's some Pear.... so i thought i'd give it a go with my L243.

The fish did eat it and seemed to enjoy but very messy
Tank is very cloudy and now i'm doing extra water changes

So i think i will stick to Cucumber, Sweet Potato and Pumpkin as fresh produce

Cheers

I've never fed pears mainly as I thought they would do that. I'm sure they are fine but can't be left in very long. Try some melon rind or grapes. I try to take the skin off grapes which isn't easy but you could cut them in half so the plecs can get to the fleshy part.

I feed pears every now and then (usually when we have too many) but like you said, i wouldn't make a regular thing. Gets far too mushy too fast, I take it out after a few hours.

I think that melon rind is an excellent food, very good for grazing and IMO its best feature is that it doesn't break down in the water, making it a much 'cleaner' food.
