Hi all,

So I'm curious , you know how if you leave the any L number fry or Bn breeds with their parents in same tank they won't spawn again usually the case well if like I'm doing removing the fry when heads and tails and putting them nifty savers if I leave them in the hatchery suctioned to the top of the same tank will it still put of spawning or should they be completely out of parents sight ?

Thanks everyone x

I have left them in the tank with the parents and in some cases I have removed and raised them separately. If they are in a fry saver there is no reason they won't spawn again, however be aware that sometimes the male needs that rest between batches. If you keep pulling them out the male MAY exhaust himself if there are an excess number of females looking for his services.

My L201 breeding group has been in continuous production for awhile now. Male will spawn with another female before the previous batch becomes free swimmers. The males do leave the cave to eat and sometimes even eat some of the eggs. I have yet to see any sign of 'exhaustion'. There could be fry from previous batch, along with wigglers from a later batch and a new clutch of eggs ALL in the same cave.

We bought those little netted plastic fry savers and its doing alright at the moment, its big enough to take zucchini for dinner but doesn't let other fish in etc.
Our male isn't phased in the slightest with babies around him
