So i was thinking of getting a grow out tank for my BN's. It will be aboult 30L and was going to use it to raise the babys up for sale.

My question is when is it a good time to move the fry ? if i move them with the waste can i move them in the breeding log with the dad till they are all free swiming.

I have seen this done on youtube. Any idear and tips on what you all do would be great.

I'm afraid 30L won't cut it to raise them to saleable size. They need to be at least 1" total length which is going to take a couple of months and by then you will have 2 more batches to grow on :fr:

You can move them as soon as the fry are free swimming by tipping them out of the log, the male usually stays in there or put the log and male in the grow out together and wait for them to leave the cave.

I move my commons as soon as they are free swimming, my male is evil though and likes to annoy me by staying in the cave when I take all the babies out, I move mine to a 50l tank with air driven filter until they are a little bit larger to move to a 150L where they grow out.
