Hi Guys,
Looking for any help or ideas anyone may have to get my L134's to breed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I bought a adult breeding trio 12 months ago. At the time the seller had 2 trios for sale, now I am wishing I bought both as I am left wondering... what if the male/females in the other trio were the only ones that had bred, as they were all in the same tank :dk:
After week I added in a 4cm juvenile I had in another tank.
After 5 months I added a sub-adult male to try and encourage the adult male into breeding.
After 10 months I added another Adult male, have still had no luck
I have never seen any trapping before. 1 of the females is very gravid, the other not as much. Have tried cool water changes, lowering the temp then bringing it back up, small water changes a few days in a row, leaving them alone for a few months.
They are in a 4ft x 18 x 18 tank, gravel bottom, some drift wood, 2 slate shelf havens, 1 slate cave, 1 terracotta cave.
External canister filter running the tank and also a power head blowing current across the front of the caves. The tank is in a quiet place in a spare room with not alot of activity. I dont have a light on in the tank and the room is kept quite dark. Only really go in there to feed them each day. Also have a piece of cardboard across the front of the tank incase I go in the room I dont disturb them.
They are fed a mixture of Hikari algae wafers, OSI shrip pellets, Hikari carnivore and blood worms.
Temp: 28 degrees
Ph: 7
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 10-20
GH: 4
KH: 5
As I said any help would be GREATLY appreciated, I would love to get these guys to breed!!! Thanks again.:hi:
