How often will L046 spawn?

Hi everyone
Can anyone tell me how often L046 will spawn? on the 29/4/13 I spotted 1 fry on the back of my tank. I think it was about 2 weeks old. I have found there are 7 maybe 8 of them. So I am a very happy man.
Over the last week I have noticed the one I believe to be the female getting slowly fatter so I am thinking she maybe gravid again. Is this normal for her to be ready again after about 4 weeks? What do you think????

When in season my fish every 3 - 4 weeks. But be careful you don't want to exhaust them.

i have had 3 spawns in 5 weeks from one female....

and i have also had 3 mths no spawns from same female....

So am I right in thinking a female will spawn with a number of males as 3 spawns in 5 weeks to me implies the second spawn would have been while the first male was still with eggs or fry?

I know the male from my first spawn and as far as I can tell from all the advice I have found from this site I think I have 2m 2f in this group.

Interesting viewing last night while watching female that is getting plump I spotted the second male trap the other female for about hours and lots of thrashing about in the cave, but this morning they are not caved. The second male has taken over the hole in the bog wood where the first male had his spawn so who knows.

You are so not wrong! The plump female and male from the first spawn are caved again and have been now for at least 4hrs so fingers crossed now waiting for the second pair to try again.
I have just added more flow to the other tank of 4 hoping that will get them going too.

If there breeding don't change a thing. Been there and set them back about 6 months. Leave everything and let nature work.

I totally agree the extra flow has gone in to another tank that has 4 L046 in it, but they are doing nothing! They are the same age and from a group of 8 w/c I bought about 6 months ago that where about 4 yrs old.
I have added the greater flow so it is more like the tank that have the fry in and the two pairs that are trying again! these are the other half of the group of 8.
I only split them as they were fighting like mad about 6 to 8 weeks ago.

I work by the farmers rules!!!
If it aint broke don't try and fix it!!!!
