Common Names:

Location: Rio Pelotas at Volta Grande Dois, Marcelino Ramos, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Appearance:
The Luteus is a very striking pleco as an adult as per photos, but as a juvenile has a dark base colour with spots, as the Luteus grows the appearance changes until it is transformed into a beautiful adult pleco.

Diet:
The Luteus is an omnivore, so plenty of fresh vegetables ie courgette/zucchini, deshelled peas, green beans etc plus algae wafers and occasional meaty food.

Water parameters:
20-24c PH 5.5-7.5
Prefers cooler temps than most plecos and will need lots of space( a large aquarium) as the Luteus grows quite big. Hiding spots or cover should also be provided so that the Luteus will feel more secure.
