How big is the tank you've moved them in? Reason i'm so curious is i've got L015 fry which are about 1 day away from losing their egg sac :D
Congrats on your fry mate, Im moving them to a 2ft tank that is connected to a rack which I've had set up for a while. The water there has pretty strong filtration and is well established.

Here is how they have progressed in the last week or so, there shouldn't be many more changes from here on, so its time for me to just watch them grow now. Thanks guys.

Could you post your water parameters? I have a group of 8 that I have had for a year plus, no one is showing any interest in spawning...I know they are definately big enough, I am thinking it maybe my water is a bit too hard?:dk: My TDS is around 140-150. My Hypancistrus seem to be quite happy with this water, just not the L134s...:wb:

I wanted them out of the main tank as I have a pair that's been in the cave together for almost 3 weeks now. I think the only way they are gonna breed is if I do a large water change, something I didn't want to do while the young were in the tank.
once they start you shouldn't need to do anything special to keep them going. Like lealea said, just do everything the same. I do 20% water changes on my tank whether or not there are L134 fry and have no problems.

Temp 28
TDS 130
PH 7.5

I dont test my hardness at all, I always get trappings but this is the first time anything has come from it. I think fish will breed when they feel comfortable.

Hope you get a spawn soon mate.

Thanks for the info, now I am totally perplexed...maybe its their diet? I am feeding frozen mysis and bloodworms once a day. I also feed earthworm pellets, veggie pellets, and a regular mixed pellet. Any advice?:dk:

Your diet is very similar to mine, Have you tried large water changes?

The problem with plecos is that we don't know for sure what really triggered them, I still believe that happy fish breed.

My fish bred when I least expected them too, so maybe the key is to just leave them alone.

I'm pretty much a newbie myself.

well I have been trying for over 2 years to breed L134, I have tried all sorts, eg with other plecs, on their own, with some cories, diff temps, diff tds, neglect, diff food, daily w/c, lights, no lights.... I think mine just dont fancy each other lol!
I have now split up my group of 8 and left 3 in breeding tank ( just in case ther males were too busy eyeing each other to think about breeding) put 3 in a cumminty tank with young BNs and a whiptail, L27 and tetra etc, and 2 into a big 5ft tank with some blue phantom and a starlight BN. will give it a few more months then give up!

Have you tried putting them in a tank of their own?

Can you give us an update of what happened to this extremely long trapping? Hopefully they didn't play you up for that long and leave without any eggs

yes tried with all 8 in a 90 ltre and no other fish...

tried when I had 5 , then cos I was worried I did not have sex mix right, I bought 3 more adults which were def a mix of sexes.
I am now trying a higher temp and reduced group size... one day I will win.

Nothing happened to my surprise, that male ended up getting belted by another male when he released her.

Look how fast the L134 fry grew compared to L066 fry.
They are the same age, kept in the same tank and fed the same foods.

Great pics and good to hear they are doing well

I'm amazed at the growth rate of the L134. I had a first spawn in November and they are already 1¼ to 1½ in size! They grow way faster than bristlenose

I hope everyone that is trying to get their groups to spawn succeed soon and once they start they will just keep going! Mine had a first spawn in November last year and I'm just waiting on the third batch to hatch this morning :D
