So, I get a juvenile boy about 2 weeks ago to go with my 3 females. He's only just started growing his bristles so I popped him in my community tank while I cycle another tank for them........now he's on eggs...............and he's only a boy himself randy little so and so!!

I only spotted it because a Bolivian Ram is hanging outside the cave ready to eat the eggs given half a chance (that has now been temporarily relocated). I guess he's going to have to run the gauntlet of the community tank for this first one and i'll rescue as many babies as I can when they look ready to leave the cave!

It is not unusual for fish in the wild to be mature and spawning at very early ages after all it is law no 1 for all living organisms

Well for a teenager he's been a great dad. They are now in their own tank and a few have emerged and are swimming around the tank......looking good!!

I would but the camera isn't good enough to focus on them they are just a yellow blob with 2 black eyes and a tiny little red heart!
