Hi

I have 4 wild L16's two males and 2 females, we have had them about 6 months now, Ijust so happened to look inside one of the plant pots we have for them and found the male looking after some eggs, they are still so far looking ok and not gone white.

Also we have some golden bristlenose in a different tank and again i have a male in a plant pot that i thought not been out for few days and again there is another batch of eggs in there, again we have 2 males and 2 females in the tank.

Both tanks have a few angels in, with internal filter to help with extra flow. They are 3ft x 15 inch x 15 inch with wood in there for them, it is bare bottom as these are our angel baby growing on tank.

i am well pleased as this is our first ever spawning with plecos, and very surprised to have two different batches at one go. We have breed angels and discus successfully, so looking forward to monitoring their progress,

the only thing i know is is to feed the blanched lettece when they have first hatched and newly hatch brine shrimp, i might be wrong but if anyone can give me any info it will be greatly appreciated, also how long if we are successful in getting them to free swiming how long would you leave them in the tank with the parents or will it be fine for them to stay with them.

we also have purchased L136(b) to grow on and hopefully breed but that will be a little way of yet.

Just quick update thought i had lost golden bristle nose eggs as they dissapeared, n when went to do water change found baby bristlenose i think we have definately 4 but there may be more.

the L16 are still at the wriggly stage, i will try to get some photo's but really hard as they are good at making it hard to see them, so they are being good fathers,

We have took the real large peices of bogwood out and put in 3-4 smaller peices so there is alot more hiding spaces for the babies. we are well pleased with there progress.

we have been putting in corgettes and newly hatch brine shrimp eggs and all the other food that we feed our fish which is a very varied diet, meat, fish, veggie based home made food, and brine shrimp, daphinia, bloodworm, rottifers, mysis.

Unfortunately we have lost all the babies:cry: i am gutted, when their dad moved out they started to wander and i think our angels have decided to have a snack on them, but what we have done is now moved them to their own tank with smaller dither fish, swordtails in there and only 5 of them so hopefully if they lay again the babies will be safe, also we have put sand in the bottom of the tank, along with the usual bog wood, plant pots and internal filter, so it a case of wait and see if they lay again. This was their first lay and we are not use to breeding plecos so we are both learning
