Just wanted to share a couple pics of my fry with you.....hope you enjoy! 3 spawns with a total of 35 fry.....3 to 6 months old.

BTW: found that they had bred again yesterday....

Thank you, I'm glad you liked them!!

They are rare here as well....even when the bann wasn't in effect yet they wheren't around much! But now that it is....you can't find them anywhere!

The ones I spawned about two years ago are really slow growing....they are about 2" now. The ones that where spawned just under 6 months ago are just over 1 1/2" now...they where bred from the same pair. A few things that are different tho are the food I feed, tank they are in, and temp is lower.....so I have to assume it's one or all that is making them grow faster....or not making them grow slower?! I also do water changes different than I did before...same amount just add new water a lot slower when there is eggs/fry in the tank. :dk:

which ones (faster or slower growers) are in the warmer tank?, i always pressumed that warmer temps would accelerate growth/ metabolism:dk:

The faster growing ones are in the cooler tank....but by no means cold!!! They are at about 80 to 82 degrees. Before I had the L174's next to the L46 tanks and that was 86 degrees...and the tank I had them in was planted so a light was on, so it warmed the tank up too. I think warmer temps do help them grow more...but to warm hurt them....but is just a guess on my part!
