L333 Fry development question!

Hi all,
I have some L333 fry that I am raising in a fry saver. These were all wrigglers with egg sacs when I found them about 8 days ago, I think the male may have got a little excited while fanning and accidently flicked a few out of the cave.

My concern is that 2 of the fry have almost completely consumed their egg sacs and are much larger than the others. The other 5 have started to get stripes and colour up, but still have most of their egg sacs and no where near the size of the larger 2 :dk:

Has anyone else ever had this happen before or do you know of any reason as to why this might happen? Im now just worried that all the smaller fry wont consume their egg sacs and die.

The fry saver I am using has a kind of egg tumbler built in to it at the back of the saver....has a air stone above some foam where the eggs sit and water comes up through the foam. Once the fry become wrigglers they are able to swim out of this area into the main part of the fry saver. The only thing I have noticed is the 2 larger fry have stayed in the egg tumbler part this whole time and the other 5 have not. Would this effect their development?

Water parameters:
Temp:28
Ph:7
Ammonia:0
Nitrite:0
Nitrate:10
GH and KH around 4-5.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :D Thanks

I would think your guess is right. also if you have two females he may have eggs from two ladies and some a day older than others perhaps? also water temp affects rate of growth so those in warmest parts grow faster. i assume you are adding a little fry food now?

Thank you for your reply Irene,
I have moved the two larger fry into another fry saver by themselves so I could start adding some food. Have got some zucchini in with them now. Have not added any food for the other 5 as they still have their egg sac.

Nothing helpful to add, sorry, but I was wondering if you could post some pictures of your fry saver. Sounds interesting

The little guys which are little more than wrigglers with a huge egg sack, I put them in a sieve suspended in the fry saver.
That way they cannot run into anything sharp which might puncture their sacks before being fully absorbed.
High up in the tank is also oxygen rich which is good for them.
Once the egg sack is gone, they are ok to be emptied into the main fry tank. They will eat a little of the older ones poop and develop the necessary gut bacteria to process food.
