Due to returning to Cichlids and other bigger pleco projects, I finally ended my hypans breeding projects. Gave up zebras a while back.

Last batch of my babies pics. I find the L174 very challenging, had 2 spawns in few months but only 3 fry made it...too bad decided not to continue to fine tune....

These are my L399/400 babies, 3 L174 somewhere inside. Will grow them up together in a 3 ft tank.

yes it can be hard work breeding hypans and other plecs sometimes, some seem to be easy but others struggle, if you manage to get fry you cant always get good survival. its an on going challenge.
your post suggests you intended to add some pics?

posted 3 pics on the babies (hopefully problem fixed)....I was going to look for the parents' pics but realized that I didnt take any. Good thing they are going to family so I still kinda have them:hi:

what are the cichlids you are working with now Lawrence?
any updates on some of the beasty plecs?

sorry this will be off topic, but you asked

just pick up another ripe female almost a footer yesterday. QT now, deciding if I might try breeding her at home and not send to the pond...

Got a colony of 9 pcs of Uaru fernandezyepezi. I posted here in the cichlid section before, but not too many interests here (being a pleco forum of course). If I can get a pair, the rest will go into pond, and try breeding at home....cichlid predates plecs for me :yes:
