Hi all,

Had a second spawn from my pair of 66's about 2-3 weeks ago, i left the male to it and he kicked out some eggs, im guessing because he knew they would be manky or deformed like the 1st spawn. i can now see about 5 fry will the egg sack absorbed still in the cave and it seems the male is not letting them out. is this a problem? will he starve them to death?
thanks for any help.

Let nature take its course he is keeping them safe from being food for bigger fish.
Don’t worry once a female is near and on heat he will drop this situation and go and have a s**g.
That’s what nature wants
Only humans have this wasted and worthless feeling called love.

apparently humans arent the only ones... there are some creatures that do this too.... lol

Sadly No not one living organism on this planet apart from humans give unselfish love believe me the dog the cat the pet cockroach all give affection for a rewarded.
And humans are also programmed to give to enable the species to survive.
Love is a misconception brought about by Judo Christian development
It has no place in a structured system

Don't worry about it, hypancitrus can breed and raise new fry with older fry still in the cave, i've had three generations in the cave at one time.
I think it's the security of the males cave that the fry like.
