Hi

I'm looking at getting some plants growing in my fish tanks.

Just wondering what are the optimum lights / globes to get the best plant growth, including depth (one of my tanks is 4x2x2)

many thanks
Anthony

Your best bet is still a T5 fluorescent fitting. You should be able to buy 4' 54W T5 tubes and fittings cheaply because they are used for horticultural grow lights.

The colour temperature you want is "daylight" 6500K, although "cool white" 4000K, would also do.

Hi all,
Where can you buy them?
Not sure in Australia, I know that the same "Growlite" T5 fittings I have in the glasshouse are made by "Growlush Australia".

The best place to find details for lights is often on forums for people who might like to smoke strange substances and "grow their own" at home.

cheers Darrel
