Male bristlenose ratio breeding question

Hey guys can to many males regardless of how many females off put breeding? See I have 4 males in a four foot, two mature longfin, and two mature shortfin, only the shortfin cave and only one is dominant and breeds, however no breeding over the past few months, would this be because of the males? I don't see them fight and only two seek interesred in caving. The dominant male keeps switching caves and hasn't been fanning. Should I remove some males or doesn't it really matter? Heaps of girls in there.

Same problem with my calicos, have ended up with about 4 males and 5 girls, get rod of some? Do people group the caves together or far apart? Thanks

I try to separate the caves and the males line of sight if possible BUT I bet while you're asleep they are all too busy fighting and bickering to breed.
I had the same problem & actually set up my video camera
You see me drop food in and then as soon as I turn the lights off it was on like donkey kong with the males while the females watched and ate all the food.
I guess that's the equivalent of seeing an action movie and eating popcorn for fish haha
