3 amigo albinos lol. Mooo, the way that male is happy to back out a bit, I reckon once the sacs are absorbed he would allow the fry to feed near the outside of the cave and then let them back in after feeding. He is an excellent daddy. :)

Oh yes he is a proud daddy too, every time I wanna take a look, Dad comes out a bit and flattens himself to one side so I can see, How accommodating , Like he is saying oh look look at my beautiful babies ...
Yep.. I reckon so too Brenda...

Day 6
When I turned the light on this morning, there were 2 fry out of tank, I then looked in the other log and there were 2 in there ..I notice Daddy doing a lot of vigorous wiggling, I mean a real lot...I think he is kicking them out ..Bit premature but they all have only a little egg sac left.. lol, He really wants them out, I wonder if he realizes, if he just came out so would they lol
Oh and I was wrong about him having bred before, He was a virgin as well as mum..So in light of that, I say he isn't a good dad, He is an exceptional Dad..

OH btw, just FYI ..The cave used for this batch is a Benandy breeding log..

Arghhhh!! I lost two fry this afternoon, one albino and one common.......I hope the rest are ok..
I did a fast wc, and cleaned the filters as well...mum n dad seem ok..and the rest seem good ..the two floaters may have been just weak ones...I sure hope so.

Oh & I do think there are Calicos in amongst them now..

Update..
Looks like that first successful spawn was beginners luck.. :(
:wb: I screwed up somewhere...:wb:
Not good news, I'm distressed to say, I have had more deaths, Soon as I seen the first few floaters, I quickly caught them all, popped em into a saver with air, took me all morning, I lost about 60% over night, the rest are struggling but still alive. I gave them, when I first caught them, some veg, flake n crushed algae wafer(all tiny amounts of course), I did a water change, when I caught them also, added melafix n pimafix, half strength
It's a waiting game now, Parents are fine & dandy...:dk:, dunno what the issue is, could be starvation, but there is plenty of food, could be bacterial, mum n dad are fine, so it's a mystery to me :dk:
there are a few loose in the tank they look ok..so far
Keep you posted

Hi Hi :hi:
Well I have ended up with some survivors..Yay!!
There are now 15+ Albinos & 10+ commons (+ = a few in main tank also)
They are all eating now ..Still thinking it was starvation...water is ok..no difference in levels or temp when I did their first wc...There isn't much algae in the tank, but there has been Cuc fresh every second day. I'm just glad some have survived what ever it was :dk:

Some photos from before disaster struck..
