New Breeding Project L309 Ancistrus

Just been to Pier Aquatics and purchased these little fellas, 2F and 1M L309 Ancistrus Plecos, all being well should get some young from them Here are some of the photos before i added them into the tank, ill be able to get some better photos from the side once settled in.

These almost replaced 183 at the top of my favourite ancistrus

Look big compared to the ones I seen when I was up there

Did they have any L260 in?

They still have 10-15 left but mainly females, i should of put a coin in to show there size id say they were only just over the 3" mark

No i asked Neil last week they never get the L260s in, they wont import ban`d fish very risky for a shop and i dont think they have any local breeders of L260s either im afraid. Theres a few regular people who go in there that do breed lots and lots of plecos next time i bump into one of them i will ask about the 260s for you

we cant get any stuff like that in Australia we only have orange spots and peps and commons short and long fin albinos short and long fin calicos short and long fin

I dont thick these are that common over in the uk, well i have never seen them before myself. Anyone know if the 309s are a regular sight in lfs?

pretty rare I believe and only one person I am aware of has bred them in the UK

wonderful, nice looking fish. have they settled ok?
