I currently have a pair of peckoltia brevis L205 in my tank right now. I am planning on getting a pair of Peckoltia Leopard Frog L134. I am just wondering if these two species with in the same genus will interbreed or not.

It is quite possible. There are documented accounts of Hypancistrus interbreeding/crossbreeding/whatever the correct term is.

humm. i was just wondering how come alot of south american fish can interbreed soo well. it will be hard to tell if a specie is a specie because what if brevis and lineola are all hybrids lol.

I would not mix two peckoltia species together, why not go for something different - like dwarf panaques (eg flash plec or gold stripe or clown) which is not likely to interbreed.

The thing is that first hand i really like the leopard frog over brevis. brevis was a 2nd choice option. but now i got the brevis i also want the leopard frog now too. its not a good choice tho but i will just have to get another tank setup for it.
