Hey all,

Im very keen to start breeding peppermint bristlenose, but I have a few questions..

Firstly, the tank I intend to keep them in also has 2x longnose whiptails, 3x royal whiptails and 1x red whiptail. Are the whippys likely to interrupt the peppermints from spawning? There are a few endler guppys as well, but I suspect they will not do any harm?

Thanks for reading,

Craig :hi:

maybe the red whiptail as he is a cave spawner but the others wont be any problem at all....

i expect the male pepp will be a decent size 10cm+ so he should be able to keep the red whiptail at bay....

do you need to keep them in the same tank? I suspect the adults may only fight over caves, but sometimes a male pepermint can be agressive to other plecs, its the luck of the draw i suspect. some are fine, others fight. endlers are fine.

the long nose and the red are cave spawners

As Irene stated, make sure that you have plenty and i mean plenty caves for the males etc, so fighting does not get too bad. The Ls are unpredictable, so try to avoid this from the start. cheers jk
