Peppermints spawning or fighting?

Hey guys, I've got a male and female adult peps in together alone, I recently bumped the temperature up a couple of degrees (only to about 27C though) and all of a sudden there is much more activity. A few things - it might only be because now they are at their preferred temp and are just more active, but thjere is a lot of movement and chasing each other around. But it looks more like fighting than anything else to me...their fins are getting pretty torn up. I finally managed to get a glimpse of the female on the front glass and she looks really skinny - doesnt look gravid to me at all, but that's my next question - are they meant to get nice and rounded all over when theyre gravid or more just towards their rear end? Also the male is in caves nearly all the time, but he swaps caves - not a good sign right?
Anyway at the moment I'm just going to wait for the next storm to do a water change, see if anything happens.

Thoughts?
Cheers :)

female should get reasonably plump, are they both eating well, lots of food etc?
keep the water changes frequent, and if you can post some pictures of them on here.

Sorry guys never saw the replies!
Definitely 1 male and 95% sure the other is a girl...
Irene - they could be eating more, but both are definitely eating.
peppermint pal - there's 4 caves in there plus some wood.

Bit of an update - I've caught them both in the same cave a couple of times, female has been 'quivering' in front of him, still chasing each other around...but still no eggs.
