Make sure the flow from the filters is agitating the water surface, this is where the oxygen enters the water.

yeah should have done that eirlier but didn't think of it.. light has been off since about 2pm and have still lost another..others are not so clingy to the surface anymore but still up the sides.. wood was being used in a bn tank wen purchased about 6mths ago and has been left dried out since

Do another water change. Stop using med's. Clean water is your best bet.

I had a similar issue with my pepps suddenly heading to the surface. With the ones that had died, did you notice any bleeding or skin rubbing off easily? or torn or damaged?
