Questions about L144 and L134

I have two female and two male L144 which are about 2 - 2.5 inches long, I am hoping to breed these but I am just wondering how big they normally start breeding at?

I have also mentioned on some of my other posts about having 3 x L134 leopards. I have taken some photos of them in their caves, they are the best I can get without catching them which I would prefer not to do. I have gave it my best attempt at sexing them but am still not 100% sure. still I think I have a gravid female. I havnt bred any plecs before so am unsure how to spot if a female is gravid or just well fed.

this is the assumed female:

Its not the best angle but what do you think, gravid or not?

these are the other two, I think the one on the right is the male.

L144 breed at around 3 inches imo, although I would tend to let them get a little older first.

yes agree l144 need a few more months.
L134 looking good, could well be gravid female. this does not mean she will lay though. they are very difficult. -well they are for me as I have been trying for a few years!
good luck.

the L144 are all in the 6ft tank, which at the moment has 3 clay caves in there so I am just leaving them to it.

Rob has kindly sent me the photo of the L134 he took when selling them, so you can see them from above and I dont have to stress them by catching them up. (cheers for that rob)

I would love to see them breed but I would be supprised if they do, seen as its not too long after being moved into the tank. I will be more hopefull when they are in their long term tank once it arrives and I get it ready for them. although as irene has pointed out it may not be as easy as I hoped. so it should be all the more satisfying if and when they do.

From their heads the one on the left looks like a male the one on the right a female but the top right is hard to tell. It may just be a fat male. I would need another picture to take a guess.

Yea I think your L144's need to get a bit bigger before they should breed. Couple months and they should be ready to go. I know they grow super slow for BN's. It will be about 6months before I could sex the 2 babies I got from a spawn I never knew my L144's had.

all three of them are hairy so it may be that I just have 3 well fed males perhaps?

when in there new tank they will have plenty of caves and flow across the cave openings so Ill see how things go then.
