Royal Tail Damage

I have a 4" L190, he's been fighing with someone else in the tank, my L91 I would think, they have had a coming together in the past, nothing serious though. He has some scale damage to his tail, between the body and the tail fin, looks pretty sore, but not too deep, some redness.

I have treated the tank with garlic and melafix, anything else to do? or just leave see how things go?

if there is no sign of a secondary infection, i'd just be doing daily water changes, i think super clean water heals wounds faster than any meds.
you could always add some melafix and pimafix to help out just in case

Ok, cheers Brian, anything in particular to look out for with secondary infection? I don't think I have seen a fish with it?

just keep an eye on it to make sure the area stays clean looking, no fuzzy/fluffy edges to it.

see if he is eating and pooing ok, thats a good sign he is feeling ok.
also can you remove the fighting partner or they will fight again maybe?

He's eating and pooing fine, not much puts him off his food

I didn't plan on him not being in that tank, but I had nowhere for him to go, I'm trying to get my 5ft wood eater tannk sorted, but getting it moved and setup are proving difficult

Tail is healing nicely no further fighting, but at least I will get my **** in gear to get the big tank moved upstairs !!!!
