Hi :hi: Me again

I have collected all the fry and put them into a floating tank in the main tank
they have absorbed their sacs but I have not seen them feeding on any of my offerings ; courgette. cucumber. carrot. algae wafers. Four have died

HELP!!!! do i need to aerate. I am doing regular water changes they are about 1cm and looking like proper mini adults

Any hints would be great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

do you have an airstone you can put in, else have holes in container and have part of the filter outfloww flowing into fry saver?
they do not need a lot of food, little and often, try some flakes.
also make sure bottom surface of floating tank is clean.
if you have a few small stones or wood with algae on them add them in.

1stly gratz on the fry:clap:

Could you post us some pics of your fry tank? Would be able to give you better advice that way. An air stone will definitely be advantageous as the fry needs time for their lungs/gills to fully develop. I normally use those bendable rubber tube air things as it covers more space and let out finer bubbles.

In regards to to eating they should be eating. Sometimes even after the yolk sack is completely desoved, it might take up to 2-3 days for the fry to start feeding. When feeding fry, its best to blanch the veges for a longer period of time and pre-soak all dry wafers/pallet food. This will prevent further food expansion in their stomachs, which at their young age can lead to death from over expanding developing stomachs. I normally use frozen peas from the supermarket as they're freshly frozen. I would soak them in boiling water, remove the husk and smash them slightly and add it to the tank.

Small piece of driftwood would be good for the fry to hide, but alot of breeder don't like it as it makes it hard to monitor the fry. 10-20% water change is ok every 2-3 days. Changing to frequently could upset the balance and stress the fry out. Hope it helps

In the house of gee
Add an airstone and then crush up some algae wafers into a fine dust. If the floating tub/tank doesnt have any slits in the sides then you will need to keep changing the water a few times a day if you can

do you have anything in the fry saver with them like MTS to keep the surfaces clear of bacteria?

also keep feeding them, even if they arent taking it yet, it will be there when they want it. and keep doing w/c
