Another hole is not, unfortunately, an option
However..
It's been a crazy day for this piece of kit.. seems every time I do anything to the tank I have to make a flow adjustment..
Added some more sand substrate (oh how I wish I'd run the 2nd bucket of the stuff through a few more times :wb: ) and done some planting..
Was worried about plants being uprooted in the night by the Gibbi (any sat on the overflow would restrict the flow, the pump would empty the sump, possibly overflowing the tank a bit, probably burn out, the heater would probably break in the dry sump and then the sump would re-fill blowing the fuses in the house) so I clamped the mesh part (strainer) of the uplift pipe (I'm still waiting for the connector to connect the uplift) to the overflow and almost immediately the whole thing settled down, no clamps on the pump outlet and the diverter open fully.
It's been settled now for about 8 hours.. there's about 1/2" too much water in the sump but I'm scared to touch it til the morning
I'd take a pic but that 2nd bucket of sand is still having an impact on visibility
