Dear all.

Forum colleagues

I intent on trying to breed my L-80's and L-204's and I have had a few doubts as to whether or not I should remove tank decor for cleaning " during maintenance /water changes "whilst attempting to breed.

Common sense tells me not to because it will surely disturb the fish and put them off from doing their thing but fish fecal matter and debris from courgettes and other food piles up under decorations.

I know there are many breeding logs in the forum but none specifies whether or not decor should be removed whilst cleaning.

Thanks in advance to all that take time to try and help.

Kind regards

i would do the regular maintenence, except removal of stones, caves etc. I would only do the water changes. Maybe be more careful and do it slower, but they will have to get used to this anyway, as you need to get new water in the tank. Do not gravel vac etc. Just my thoughts on this. cheers jk

A power head or two with a sponge, or even an airstone in the area, can help keep matter from collecting under caves. Plus most L's will like the flow.

Also try cutting the seeded area out of veggies, it tends to be the part they don't eat and breaks down the quickest.
