Hi all,
just done a 5 liter water change on the edge and checked all the fish, all seam ok and are swimming and eating ok.also gone from feeding once a day to once every other day. so the tank now gets a 5 liter water change a day and 10 liter on mondays, with no easycarbo and little ferts.
theres also more growth on the java ferns now
I'm pleased to hear things have settled down, if the fish are eating that sounds really promising. I'd keep the water changes at that level for a week or two and then possibly reduce them down. Because you aren't adding as much fertiliser you should be able to reduce the big water change to the 5 litres, and possibly all the others to 2 or 3 litres. I usually just change a "6 pint" milk bottle worth every day in my nano tank now its "stable".

PM me if you want any floating plants/stem plants or a grindal/micro worm culture. I usually feed all the fish a little scrape of grindal worms every day, but they only get pellets or flakes every other day. In the summer I usually feed a lot more Daphnia and mosquito larvae, and often I don't feed them any pellet food at all.

I've not kept CPD, but I've noticed that my Thread-fin Rainbows really like micro worms, so these might be useful as a food source for your CPDs, particularly if they spawn.

cheers Darrel

Cheers darrel,I'm glad the tank has settled. Don't won't to end any more fish lives.
Didn't like doin that. But I must say that these fish are doin my head in,when I found the dead one with no tail I could only see 5 of them left, now there are 6. God knows where they hide.
There is no more room for any more Plants and I'm not sure if floating plants would work in an edge, as it's a sealed tank with a little opening, cheers for the offer tho.
It's only a 23liter tank and I only add 0.5 ml off ferts a day now.
I fed them some frozen blood worms last night and thay all went mad.
The grindal worms are they frozen or live?
