well for conditioning my fish i feed the Seachem shrimps. it's like stuff in cans with a lid
my plecos love it and its not too small either so it doesn't get trapped in my bad decision for substrate.

the sera catfish wafers are great for fry because it softens up pretty quickly actually and doesnt affect water quality too much

Please include what species it is, and thank you kindly. :D
The first link is the preperation of my cucumbers on a stainless steel barby skewer. Note putting tham in in an alternate fashion, which means they all get a chance to get on it

My 1 year old Pardalis likes pear out of all the other foods I feed him.

I can put 1/4 of a pear in & by the morning all that is left is the skin.

I would say his next favourite would be mango & then strawberry.

I love these threads as they give me more ideas on what to feed my little guy.

Has anyone ever tried acorns? Especially for something like a Panaque.:dk:
I haven't tried nuts but squashing first would help, not sure of fat/oil in nut would effect a fish??

Nuts tend to be stored for time in warehouse's,so chances for chemicals on nuts would be higher than other foods.

Root based vegetables are a better choice in my experience.( please fell free to post pictures if they feed of any nuts.

Im having really good results with Capsicum fed to my Gold Nuggets only problem is it is digested with little effort due to the lack of fiber.

Ive got absolutely no idea what my pleco's favorite food is. I was sold a LDA19 Mega clown pleco 2 weeks ago, when i asked for a small plec that would eat algae. I was also persuaded to buy some algae pleco wafers as its favorite food.

On looking it up i discover that LDA19 / L340 is onviorous, prefering meaty stuff.

I've seen it try to waft a pleco wafer away from its cave, so pretty sure its not that keen on them. As i have a mixed tank i feed flake in the morning, and in the evening i feed a combination from a frozen food variety pack that seems to go down welll with the whole tank bar him.

He's hidden nearly all the time but his belly seems to be chubby enough when he's seen out at night. Ive never seen him rooting for food during the day, so it must be eating something. I just don't know what.

Yours,

Steve

Make sure to lay back from animal meats/proteins there barely digested by human's let alone Loricariidae with such fast metabolism and digestion, if your after a heavy protein make it water based, alot have good results with mussel, river shrimp and prawn's.

All my large or soon to be large Panaque prefer green peas, carrots, sweet potato, zucchini, and HBH wafers. I only feed them this maybe twice a week. The rest of the time it is just the wood in their tanks.

The L-137's eat anything but I try to keep it the same as the Panaques with some added meaty wafers or pellets.
