baby zeb missing his back end!
I came down one morning a few days ago and found 2 wrigglers kicked out of cave. unfortunately the other fish had also found them, i dont know how long they had been out for. but one lost tip of tail and one lost all of tail where something tried to eat them.
rescued to fry saver but did not expect to live long.
After a couple of days were still alive...

so far so good.
today, a couple more days later, both still alive...

time will tell whether he will grow a new tail...and live ...

will keep you updated.

gee and hes me deciding whether or not to cull a baby zeb as it has slight bent tail!!! :)

you'll soon see by the time it uses it egg sac up whether or not it can eat and swim about...

well he put up a brave fight but dies today. the other with damage to tail is still alive and wriggles a bit but not confident it will succeed as its taking a long time to reduce the egg sack. will keep you updated.

yep, I tried, both dead now.
lets hope dad does not kick out more next time, and if he does I get to them before the other fish!

I've found a couple kicked out in the past and done the same as you and saved them only to find deformities when looked at closely....

I think the dad kicks them out on purpose...
