I have 2 4ft tanks & in the community tank i had a 3-4" gold male bristlenose, I bought another but the standard darker colour for the cichlid tank who happens to be female of similar size. As it is few days later i randomly bought a 3ft tank which came with (now identified thanks to people on here) a gold spot plec. So... Ive put the 2 bristlenose together in the community tank so have a few questions to prepare myself just incase they breed.

Do they need to get to a certain size before breeding would start?
Would i need to do anything or alter the tank in anyway to encourage breeding?
I believe they lay eggs, So if i spot any do i remove them as i have other fish in the tank?
Does the male/female raise them?

Any other info you could give would be great , or even if they would breed at all.
I'd just rather be prepared & ready (just incase)

Thank you

The male will raise the eggs to fry. You could do with a cave for the male to take up residence and trap the female inside while she lays her eggs. He will then fan the eggs for around 4 days until they hatch and then a further 4 days before the fry come out the cave. If he chucks eggs out put them in a fry net with an airstone next to them and they will hatch the same as if he was fanning them.
