Hi here is my breeding tank - well part of it. its very hard to photo cos i get reflections on the glass.

also glass a bit murky as dare not put hand in to clean.

the breeding male is in the clay cave on the left. the recovering (quite well considering the state she was in a week ago) female is in slate cave on right.

another hopefully female as quite plump is on top of his cave.

I dont think there are any wrigglers left in with him, if there are it wont be many cos if i lie down on the floor,
i can see up the cave and cant see any unless he has them tucked uner his head !
the single fry is still ok today.

thanks, home made cave from porcelain clay and fired at local pot shop.

Todays Update:

baby has now lost most of his egg sack, and I thought he would be a fuzzy grey for a while but he has tiny stripes -so cute. will try and get pic but he hides a lot and only tends to come into the open when I do my morning w/c

I have also taken out a well scratched zeb to my hospital tank this moring. not sure if female he has had another bite at or a rival male. he/she is tucked in a cave so moved whole cave into hosp tank! He does not seem to be fanning as if has any new eggs.

think I will continue to spend a lot of time tank watching!!! - well cant do much in this wet weather -lol.

So good to hear the baby is doing well, must be so cute to see those little stripes <3

Certainly sounds like they are all getting jiggy in there anyway with the injuries but fingers crossed no real harm is done and you have eggs again soon

thanks, managed a couple of pics but so hard when dare not clean glass,
no light in tank and too many reflections on the glass!
anyway you can just make him out.
he does have a bit of egg sack left which is easier to see in the pic than by eye.

the stone is to stop the plastic bottom, which is loose, from floating up.
most of the time he hides on the dark side ofthe stone so I cant see him.
he is just right of the airstone.
here is a blow up...

hard to tell hes a zeb in these pics I'm sorry
heres another shot
as you can see hard to get close cos of flash and camera focuses on the glass not the zeb...

have been feeding today but doubt if he is eating, but might tomorrow.

Hi the zeb looks good.
Maybe 2 days to go before need to feed, but if the zeb fry sit on the side of the breeder and does not go to the floor where the food is I stimulate them with a fine paint brush to move them down to the food at feeding time and this shows them what to do as this fish will not have any other way to find out other than starving as no other fish in breeder.

Its only one thing I do to help them feed and works well for me,it might help your zeb.

Gourgous Irene, I didn't know plecos could be that agressive towards each other in a setting like that though, learn something new everyday. Cichlids been my passion for so long, but now I am hooked on plecos aswell.<3
