Just looking in the tank and saw 2 eggs have been kicked out, only problem I can't figure out which of my males they could be from and can't tell if either has any more eggs as I am reluctant to shine a torch in their caves. Both are right at the back of the cave so I can't even see if either is fanning. They swap caves each day so if either are still in the same caves in the morning chances are that will be the one who layed and hopefully may have a couple more in with him. As it's a first go I'm not holding out much hope, but now they have started hopefully they are in the zone!

Wish me luck!!

7 more eggs kicked out this morning. I can now see which one it is and it's not my old alpha male who has been a dad before it's my young male who I honestly didn't think was old enough yet. That may explain why he's a bit hopeless. It looks like he still has at least one egg in with him but I really can't see.

This may be a daft quastion as I have never seen them before but what colour are the eggs meant to be? They are white so I think they may be infertile but I have put them in a fry saver with an airstone anyway

eggs in the fry saver are now furry so looks like they've had it. There is still one in with dad but he's not fanning at all.............he needs educating!!

Is it possible that the alpha male is indeed dad but decided there was something wrong with them and left them, so the youngster has gone in:dk:

Can't see anything in the cave with him now. Looks like it was a dry run! Fingers crossed that now he's started he'll have another try, I have a couple of fat females in there with him!

congrats! well good news that you have a laying female in the group. (thats often the first worry to get a valid pair), the first mating (and next few) are often a problem as the parents learn.
