ok i know Eheim are 'the best' but I use tetratec or fluval mainly as cheaper and haven't had any issues with either so far.

i use ehiem, tetratec and fluval fx5 externals, my favourite out of these has to be the tetratec, it never clogs or slows down, and is so simple to work on. i also use fluval internals as i've always found these to be great back up filters, really like the new fluval U series ones

lol.

I should of voted fluval and not other:wb:

My 405 external fluval filter is around 4 years old and I haven't had to replace anything yet. The only gripe i have is the little ball on the intake tube gets gunky esp in a plec tank, then it slows the flow down.
Could just take the ball out i spose lol

eheim last and are quiet, I have several internal and external.
however I also have some fluval which are easier to clean.
plus I use aquael UV as they are the only ones with built in UV, and they are good value, so I have them as second filters.

In the house of gee
No need to keep an eye on this thread Tony just google Eheim and get yourself a true bit of German quality.

High flow
Low wattage
German built and will last forever

I rest my case:D:D

Cheers

G,you mean like a Volkswagon?

I'm in no hurry,i have to figure where to put the tank, but i will.

If it's a good product, money is not a concern.I will pay for quality.

Tetratec externals all the way.
In my thirty years of fishkeeping i have had one Fluval internal break down and one Eheim external break down. Not bad at all really but have had no problems at all with any of my Tetratec externals.
I voted other

.

I've found Fluvals to be noisy (not used the modern models)
My Ehiem gets clogged really quickly...
Didnt like the design of the rena XP's I had... but no other problems.
The only externals I havent had problems with is the tetratecs... So I've got 4 :)

Even got one in the bedroom (the 1200 too) and its almost silent :)

eheim, got externals and internals on most tanks, never had any probs. i over feed well and only once had an iussue with clogging and that was with BNs whilst feeding cucumber. they are silent, the air pumps are the only noisy things

Being a cheap so and so I currently have 2x Jebo 1200LPH canisters both for over 2 years with no issues they each have 5 media baskets and have OK flow rates but for 30 euros each I would reccommend them to anyone. I also have an older Jabao 1000Lph canister on my turtle tank that I picked up last year at a moving sale for 5 euros. Not sure how old it is, but it handles heavy turtle waste very well.

Should any one use any filters apart from Eheim they will become unclean and thus no longer slowed to worship at the church of Eheim

A slow death will be suffered and untold discomfort will become the norm
