Here in Canada you can buy what they call Agar Agar. It is derived from seaweed and vegetables and is sold in a small package at health food stores for the high price of $10.00. Agar is used for the propagation of plants by tissue culture or plants such as orchids with dust fine seeds. The aquarium plants grown in Denmark are started this way.
