I have some in each of my tanks. I took one HUGE one I got and tore it in half. One half I attached to a small cave I made for my shrimp, the other I rolled back into a ball and left it. Both are doing great!
In the beginning the one attached to the cave looked a little shabby. But after a few weeks it's greened up nicely and shows sign of "shagginess" My shrimp enjoy foraging on it. All my other moss balls seem nice and green but no real growth per say.
