i love the wood
Yeah me to, got lucky, never seen wood this size here, there were 3 pieces, I bought them all, 5kgs in total.

Spent 30 mins piecing together on the floor before got something I liked.

It has to go left to right as the right end is visible from the lounge.

It needs something else, more wood maybe or plants or maybe even stone.

Was thinking about moving java fern to the left side

Open to suggestions...

First off the bit on the right is wasted as it is now seeing as its a forked piece i think, should have both bits visible. a couple of large rocks followed by smaller ones would look good too......attach some moss to parts of the wood also and perhaps some giant vallis at the back?

to be honest I like it as is, the java fern on the right breaks up that corner a bot. Maybe on the left another cave or/and a piece of stone to lift the left up. cheers jk

hmmm, that's the biggest bit, not sure how else it will fit in the tank will have a look. I quite like fact that it is embedded into the gravel

plants need to be attached to wood, substrate not deep enough to plant.

need to visit a couple of places, see what I can lay my hands on.

I wouldn't say it needs any more plants the wood's the feature. Tidy tank. Maybe add a few tannins (hated by some I know) and I wouldn't personally have a venturi running(fish seem to like them) and background looks good. Looks well balanced. You could easily sneak a few caves in there, would make a good breeding/show tank.

The wood is starting to leech already, I don't mind a few tannins although my missus hates them, is convinced it means the filter needs cleaning.

The venturi is hit and miss sometimes I like it, sometimes not., I have just moved the internal so that it fires against the back wall and is not so intrusive on the scape. It will get removed all together I think if I add another can.

It doesn't need much more I agree, just something.. I'll know it when I see it!

here you go Steve, tbh I am going to do a total rescape when my filter woes are sorted.

not utilising the new wood properly yet, but it is the bit on top although you can't see it well in its current position.

I've sent the venturi down the back wall of the tank as well so it's less intrusive.
