In my experiance id say 4-5 coats is best.First coat is on, looks better already.
*must stay patient to add second*
Don't think i'm going to need that many, second is on apart from one small patch that I need to go over again when that's dry it looks doneIn my experiance id say 4-5 coats is best.
Yeah me to, got lucky, never seen wood this size here, there were 3 pieces, I bought them all, 5kgs in total.i love the wood
hmmm, that's the biggest bit, not sure how else it will fit in the tank will have a look. I quite like fact that it is embedded into the gravelFirst off the bit on the right is wasted as it is now seeing as its a forked piece i think, should have both bits visible. a couple of large rocks followed by smaller ones would look good too......attach some moss to parts of the wood also and perhaps some giant vallis at the back?
Looks very coolDone, 2 coats.
Internal filter is on in this picture, would normally turn off for photos but you get the idea, click to unsquish
Thanks Lisa, Steve is right in one of his statements, namely the latter, for now.Looks very cool

Hes gay and doesnt have any plecs
The wood is starting to leech already, I don't mind a few tannins although my missus hates them, is convinced it means the filter needs cleaning.I wouldn't say it needs any more plants the wood's the feature. Tidy tank. Maybe add a few tannins (hated by some I know) and I wouldn't personally have a venturi running(fish seem to like them) and background looks good. Looks well balanced. You could easily sneak a few caves in there, would make a good breeding/show tank.
A 12" Shampupa Peru green will fill up the middle nicely  The new painted background looks great btw :clap:It doesn't need much more I agree, just something.. I'll know it when I see it!
Beautiful work on the painted back wall and the design, It looks superb, more plants will finish it perfectly..
ThanksI think it looks sharp the way it is. Nice job!
