It sounds to me like an ammonia peak - the cloudiness- test for ammonia and only put fish in when the levels have dropped to zero - sorry edited as posted in wrong forum , apologies...

Fish settled in nicely - tank 1 has the bigger male and fatter gravid female, male has already found a cave and dug the silica sand around his cave, female has found a nice spot user some driftwood. PH 7.2 & Ammonia 0.0

tank 2 - both just hanging around the tank at this stage. PH 7.2 & Ammonia 0.0

took a few pics but not very good, once they settle in and feel comfortable then i will take some more..... any info or tips on conditioning would be great although gonna let them settle in first before trying anything.

They are being very unsocial as we speak hahaaha, Im sitting here watching them for the past hour. Tank 1 male is in his cave and female is under a piece of driftwood, they just lay there very unsocial. They both have dug the sand to suite their resting spaces which is good. Tank 2 both male and female just gaze around, Male hasn't found his cave yet and just hangs around the female. Will begin feeding tonight :)

Update for today - 20% aged rain water / Tap water (Ratio 60:40) WC done today. Male in tank 2 now in his cave and female hanging around driftwood and males cave. Tank 1 Female has dug more sand and created a bit under the driftwood and male has done the same outside his cave. I fed Frozen Bloodworms although They are still settling in so might take a while for them to go for it. :)

Thanks Bigbird, I will see how I go, Hopefully not toooo long. I understand I have to work at that balance of conditioning them and get them to trigger with giving them space and leaving them alone. Very hard as I love to watch them. Although they won't spawn over night, I hope its not taking too long for them to get their act together. Females are both plump as an apple and males are sized and fat and quite hairy lol

Yea done, I only go in to feed and the usual maintenance. I then cover with a towel the rest of the day... So hard not to peak though, for Ls that hide all day they really entertain

Thanks Jute

Bigbird, Yea im avoiding going to the tank and looking at them, just trying to let them relax and settle in the tank. No I did tank some photos when they were bagged up in the tank but didnt tank individual photos as they were stressed and discoloured and wanted to get them into their new home ASAP. Once they settle after a week or so I will take some more photos with my DSLR although I warn I am crap at fishography :(

****Update****

All fish are happily in their caves, even the females. The dominant smaller male seems to hang around the larger male for his cave. No signs of aggression towards the 2 so hopefully they sort it out. Im guessing the dominant male wants that cave. The only problem I see is that even when I do WC there still seems to be crap in the tank. I do 2-3 WC per week @ 30% as their is a lot of their poop and uneaten food lying around the tank although I did a WC yesterday arvo, Today there is still crap on the substrate and little particles floating around. Nothing too major but for L# that need clean water I'm out of ideas. Im running the eheim 2215 as well as 2 sponge filters within the tank.

Thanks :D

Well you are feeding too much by the sounds of it.

I wouldn't necessarily equate crap to bad water.

The sheer volume of the waste my L's produced in my tank in the UK meant that there was always some around, even with Daily WC but the water parameters were spot on.

Got a picture of the set up?

I have a pic, so I will put up tomorrow. Just a basic pic of the tank setup should do?

and I will try to feed less, WC parameters are spot on and Overall Quality is great but just a little poo on the gravel and that type of thing.

That's going to happen keeping L's I reckon.

Yeah just wanted to see the scape, I can't comment on suitability for breeding but its always nice to see different tanks
