Hi,

Locals came in the early afternoon for fishing:

Their fishing was relatively fast. To our understanding, it was probably very barbaric.
On each long stick was mounted one barb. The sticks they put into the narrow crevices. By selective withdrawal of the stick they driven the barb into the fish - no matter where.
At least they have the fish to the boat then immediately killed.

Hi,

... Rio Ventuari downstream. Now we come to a part of the Rio Ventuari where the locals caught fish do not necessarily equal to the diet. ;)

On the banks established fishnet invite you to inspect the contents. :D
But here the net were empty.

Originally I thought I'd just wait until you had finished posting pictures to say <3:drool:<3:thumbup: but it seems that may be a while longer :)

Hi,

After dinner, I heard something walk on water in the dark.

This took a little disoriented impression in the torch light ...

... and turned out to be a bat.

At our camp opposite end of the island there were some jagged rocks and wood: a possible catfish-biotope.

Unfortunately, I do not get this cute little animals quite right in the picture. I think they recognize that perfectly well.
Diameter 15 cm.

On dead wood I catched this Ancistrus sp. "Puerto Ayacucho".

I saw also Squaliforma emarginata (L 153).

Between stones I saw a young Hypancistrus contradens and a Ancistomus sp. "L 243".
